Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum and led by Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and taking place for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa region, the Global Women’s Forum Dubai 2016, is scheduled for February 23rd and 24th in Dubai, in partnership with Cartier.
Co-organized by the Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society and Dubai Women Establishment, the forum will come together under the theme “Let’s Innovate!” that aims to serve as a platform to bring together key figures in their respective fields such as business, government, academia, and art and culture from across the globe to address ideas and developments that can empower women’s contribution to society and economy, as well as promote business diversity. Split into five pillars: achieving, creating, giving, energizing, and sustaining, the-two day forum will feature various interactive workshops and talks that will explore the various topics.
Cartier will take part in the forum as a leading partner; the renowned French jewelry house has been a long-standing supporter of empowering up-and-coming women entrepreneurs through its annual Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards. Created in 2006 with the Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society, the INSEAD business school and McKinsey & Company, the yearly business plan competition open to women worldwide grants US $20,000 (AED/SAR 73,459) of funding, coaching, media exposure, and networking opportunities to six winners, each representing her respective region (Latin America, North America, Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East & North Africa, Asia-Pacific).
As part of its partnership with the forum, Cartier will host four major events: two discussion sessions where a number of former awards finalists and winners will be invited to discuss the challenges and opportunities of balancing work and family life, along with cross-cultural management challenges that arise when seeking support for businesses. Meanwhile, as the jewelry house celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards, the INSEAD business school will highlight the award winners’ achievements through an assessment study and a private gala hosted by Cartier, which will be held on the first evening of the forum.
The Global Women’s Forum Dubai 2016 will take place on February 23rd and 24th at Madinat Jumeirah.
