Warner Bros. has released the second official trailer for Pan, the movie that finds Cara Delevingne portraying a whimsical, flaxen-haired mermaid. A colorfully dressed Rooney Mara also appears, as does a bearded Hugh Jackman. The movie is set for an October 9 release. [YouTube]
Kim’s new job…
Yesterday it was revealed that Amanda Seyfried, Joshua Jackson, and Taraji P. Henson would be presenting at next month’s CFDA Awards ceremony, and today another celebrity was added to the list. Kim Kardashian West is set to give this year’s Media Award to Instagram cofounder Kevin Systrom. The pairing seems fitting considering West is one of the most followed people on the social media platform, and as expected she took to Instagram this morning to announce the news to her fans. Josephine’s unique upbringing…
In a new video, Josephine Skriver discusses her upbringing as a child born via IVF. The model, who has appeared on countless runways and in numerous editorials, admitted to being criticized on social media because of the way she was conceived, but that won’t stop her from telling her story. “When you get the opportunity to have a platform, I feel like it is your obligation to use it,” she said, adding, “By telling my family’s story, I can give back.” [i-D]
Another win for Peter Pilotto…
Designers Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos of Peter Pilotto are the recipients of the first-ever Swarovski Collective Award. The pair will be receive €25,000 and have access to Swarovski products for a year. Said Pilotto, “It is a tremendous honor to be the recipient of their first award. They are such an iconic partner with such an impressive archive, and they are constantly innovative in every way.” [British Vogue]
Cannes falls flat…
The Cannes Film Festival gained publicity for all the wrong reasons today, having allegedly denied women access to a movie screening because they weren’t wearing high heels. Emily Blunt was told about the incident during a press conference this morning. “That’s very disappointing,” said the actress. “I think everyone should wear flats, to be honest.” Director Denis Villeneuve then jumped in. “As a sign of protest, Benicio [Del Toro], Josh [Brolin], and I will walk the stairs in high heels tonight,” he said. We can’t wait to see if he delivers on his promise. [Variety]
