What is it about bridal fashion that heightens our anxiety—the anticipation of the big day or the fear of not finding the perfect wedding dress?
Brides-to-be who have exhausted every shop in town without finding their favorite pick might have gotten lucky at Bride Dubai, which took place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 2-5.
Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Sheikha Bint Saif Al Nahyan and with the long-standing support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation UAE, the 17th edition of Bride Dubai provided a selection of contemporary and traditional bridal wear from the region and abroad, next to bridesmaid wear and cocktail dresses, jewelry, accessories, make-up, fragrances, as well as a regional selection of wedding organizers and suppliers.
Considered to be the Middle East’s largest and most luxurious bridal event, Bride Dubai hosted over 350 exhibitors from the region and abroad, including makers of bridal couture, evening gowns, and luxurious caftans and abayas from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon, Turkey, Spain, India, and Romania.
Puffy tulle, crisp taffetas, lush silks, precious satins, opulent embroideries, rhinestone embellishments, and ruched detailing—Bride Dubai was a feast for the eyes. And whether you prefer a classic white dress with a flowing train or opulently embroidered jalabiyas, the fair had many looks to choose from. The next major Bride show will take place in Abu Dhabi from January 28-31, 2015.
