Riccardo’s family grows…
Rumor has it that Beyoncé will be the next face of Givenchy after she and Riccardo Tisci were spotted together on a rooftop in Brooklyn. The pair were reportedly conducting a photo shoot in which Ms. Knowles donned two looks from the Givenchy Fall 2015 collection, one black, the other a burgundy gown. [Daily Mail]
Designing at Dries…
In a digital world, the concerns of designers have become increasingly diverse. “I have had to start thinking about what garments look good viewed on an iPod or smartphone. The first three looks have to be intriguing enough to make people want to see the rest,” Dries Van Noten said in a recent interview. The designer also touched on his Karl Lagerfeld-esque reluctance to reference the past, saying, “I don’t want to be nostalgic. I don’t see the point of dressing up in clothes from the past; there’s a reason why fashion changes,” and explained why he is so focused on creating wearable clothes: “In most companies, accessories, shoes, and bags make up 60 to 70 percent of sales—for us it’s only 7 percent, the other 93 percent is clothing.” [Vestoj]
Threeasfour takes the top spot…
The 16th Annual National Design Awards are here, and this year Threeasfour has been awarded top prize in the Fashion Design category. The New York-based brand was founded in 2005 and uses “fashion to promote the need for human coexistence and collaboration, and fuses technology with traditional craftsmanship.”
Fendi’s “Bad Dream”…
Musician Chlöe Howl has teamed up with Fendi to promote the house’s new range of Orchidea glasses. The campaign film features Howl in Fendi’s SS15 collection and various pairs of its block-colored angular frames, driving a vintage car while singing to the soundtrack of her latest single, “Bad Dream.” [Dazed]
