On this day, couturier Rami Al Ali was born in the Syrian city of Deir ez-Zor. He later moved to Damascus and it was there that he produced his first fashion show in 1995 as a graduation presentation. Over 20 years later, and 16 years following the birth of his label in 2000, Al Ali is still creating beautiful couture gowns for clients such as Petra Nemcova, Beyoncé, and Chanel Iman, and a slew of loyal ladies who come to him for his intricately designed dresses featuring sylph-like silhouettes.
