Sponsored by Dubai Design District (d3), 10 participants will have the opportunity to take part in a jewelry course organized by jewelry design studio, Azza Fahmy, from August 24th to September 4th.
The workshop will take place at the Tashkeel art gallery and will be divided into five days theoretical and five days of practical classes.
During the workshop, applicants will learn essential techniques when working with metal, and will be able to realize their own design. In addition, the students will attend two private lectures given by artist Estella Saez and designer Azza Fahmy (who has recently been named as one of the members of the Dubai Design and Fashion Council. The talks will address the work of these distinguished artists and the intuitive and often intensive labor of love they put into their creations.
An internationally celebrated jewelry designer who has exhibited her pieces all over the world, Egyptian-born Fahmy commented about this collaboration with d3: “As an Arab I feel extremely proud that Dubai took the initiative in creating a hub that develops and showcases the endless potential in our region and invests in our future talents. Dubai is certainly becoming a strategic fashion destination for designers and talents worldwide and the Council can help create the solid structure with which our industries become global trendsetters. It is important that with this opportunity, regional designers continue to develop and express their work while embracing their origin and sticking to their beautiful heritage.”
