In an a emotional video released by the International Rescue Committee, power couple actor George Clooney and his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, spoke to three Syrian refugee families in Berlin who are displaced from their civil war-ridden country. The clip shows the families sharing their heartbreaking and tragic stories as a result of the ongoing crises in Syria that started five years ago.
Notably, Amal Clooney reflects on her personal experience of fleeing from a war that tore through her native country, “My own family is from Lebanon and they also ran away from a war; and were lucky enough to be accepted by a European country in 1982 while the violence there was really bad.”
