Is there anything that Alexa Chung can’t do—or try? The ‘It-girl’ is a true multitasker and has proven herself in various disciplines, from TV-hosting, modeling, and DJ-ing, to being Vogue UK’s guest editor, and a (not very successful) author.
After making a name for herself by playing brand ambassador for the likes of cosmetic labels, like Eyeko and L’Oréal, and clothing labels Maje, Superga, and Lacoste, Chung finally decided to get settled with her very own brand: a womenswear clothing line that she plans to release in early 2014.
“[You] need loads of money to set up a label,” Chung told Fashionista. “It’s quite complicated and I have no idea how you do it. But that’s pretty much all I want.”
Chung also declared that she will be focusing on her collection in the upcoming year, instead of collaborating with a handful of brands like she used to. “ [2014 is] going to be the first opportunity where I haven’t had a nine-to-five job… I’ve kind of been doing Eyeko, I wrote a book, I did Fuse [her music news show on Fuse TV] every day, and various other design gigs and DJing. So this will be the first time to actually sort of sit down and think about [the collection].”
We’ll be watching this one closely. In the meantime, those eager to know more can follow Alexa Chung on Twitter for updates.
