It is time to stop the speculation; WWD is reporting that Alessandro Michele will be announced as the new creative director of Gucci and successor to Frida Giannini. Gucci is yet to formally confirm the news, however Michele took a bow at the end of the label’s menswear show yesterday along with a dozen in-house designers, so it seems he could be getting ready to step into the role. Style stars are stepping up in the name of charity. Sarah Jessica Parker, Rihanna, Jourdan Dunn, Leandra Medine, and Rachel Feinstein have all been enlisted to create their own Fendi 3Baguette bags ahead of the brand’s new flagship store opening in NYC. YSL’s first retrospective in the U.K.…
This summer, the Bowes Museum in Newgate is set to host an exhibit devoted to Yves Saint Laurent. The show, which will run from July 11 to October 25, will be the first retrospective entirely devoted to YSL in the U.K. and include 50 pieces by the designer, spanning his entire career. [The Cut]
Armani’s new home…
Giorgio Armani is investing 50 million euros in an exhibition space to house a permanent archive of his designs and sketches. The building, located in Milan, was purchased last year and is a former Nestlé factory. It will also be used as the new Armani head office and host external exhibitions. [British Vogue]
