The Ataya (“giving”) exhibition is a charitable expo that not only raises funds and spreads awareness, but also creates a platform for talented individuals to exhibit their work while helping give back to those less fortunate. Organized by the Emirates Red Crescent under the patronage and vision of H.H. Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan Al Nahyan, the exhibition is being held at the IPIC Arena in Abu Dhabi until May 7th.
Ataya plays host to a selection of international and regional brands offering a wide variety of jewelry, fashion, and furniture collections under one roof. This year’s participants include UAE-based Palestinian-Lebanese designer Dee by Dalia; Saudi designer Razan Alazzouni who is displaying her latest “Threads by Razan Alazzouni” capsule collection; Lebanese handbag designer Sarah’s Bag, who is known for her embellished statement clutches; and UAE-based fine jewelry designers Shamsa Alabbar and Nadine Kanso of Bil Arabi; as well as Qirdala, a multi-brand contemporary jewelry boutique from Kuwait.
This year, Ataya aims to collect enough funds to build and operate a specialist hospital in Northern Iraq, close to the city of Erbil, to provide aid and relief to the women and children in dire need of help. Funds are being collected through stand rentals, entry tickets priced at AED/SAR 50, and donations.
