Miami’s Mad Cat Theatre Company just opened a play based on the life of fashion muse, Isabella Blow, entitled Blow Me, running until September 1st.
The play is written by company member Jessica Farr and explores the life of the eccentric fashion icon, Alexander McQueen’s muse and former editor at Tatler and British Vogue, who left an indelible mark on the fashion world. Suffering from bi-polar disorder, Blow was known for her daring style and unconventional attitude. In Blow Me, American actress, Erin Joy Schmidt, plays the late Isabella, retelling the story of her life towards its tragic end, which culminated in her 2007 suicide.
It appears that Isabella Blow currently attracts a good deal of attention. Apart form the theatrical play, her personal fashion collection will go on display at London’s Somerset House on November 20th, in the context of the exhibition “Isabella Blow: Fashion Galore!”. The event is organized in partnership with Central Saint Martins’ fashion department and The Isabella Blow Foundation, and will feature 100 outfits from Blow’s wardrobe which had been purchased by heiress, Daphne Guinness.
