It’s been an exciting past few days here in Dubai. After a month of traipsing from show to show in New York, London, Milan, and Paris, the fashion industry finally took hold of some much needed rest and relaxation. The Middle East industry, however, was putting the finishing touches on the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience which debuted Thursday. That day, the spotlight was put on Middle Eastern designers while the evening’s black-tie gala, co-hosted by Vogue Italia’s Franca Sozzani and Emaar’s Chairman, Mr. Mohammed Alabbar, raised over USD $1 million for Dubai Cares for underprivileged children in Ethiopia.
And while many of you will be enjoying the next few days with family and friends in celebration of Eid Al Adha, Dubai will host the second season of Fashion Forward, for which Style.com/Arabia will be providing complete coverage. We will be front row to review the shows, and our street style photographer, Moez Achour, will once again be shooting the scene outside and around the Madinat Jumeirah venue. For those of you not present to see the catwalk action live, Style.com/Arabia will be exclusively live streaming the shows as well as offering daily Split Second Previews ahead of the designers’ big reveal. On Wednesday, October 16th, Senior Editor, Sofia Guellaty, and Features Editor, Caterina Minthe, will participate in a panel discussion on “The influence of Editors on the Fashion Landscape” and how to grow the international visibility of Middle Eastern brands.
