Celebrating its ten years in the region with a bang, Christie’s Middle East is launching a new sale titled Element of Style. The new auction will occur in March along with the seasonal Christie’s luxury watch and art auctions. The Element of Style sale will feature 60 handbags from storied fashion houses Chanel and Hermès, along with watches for men and women, limited edition fountain pens from Montblanc, and vintage luggage and trunks from Louis Vuitton, for a grand total of 150 lots sourced from international collectors.
Founded in 1766 by James Christie, the auction house offers 350 sales annually over 80 categories with prices ranging from US $200 to over US $100 million. Global President of Christie’s Jussi Pylkkäen recalls wondering if the auction concept would take off in Dubai, “I clearly remember the moment just before our first auction in Dubai… we all knew it was a risk.” Following 10 years and 20 sales seasons, Christie’s Middle East has since established itself in the region as a leading platform for selling Middle Eastern art and luxury lifestyle items and jewelry.
Christie’s Middle East Element of Style Auction will occur on March 17th at the Godolphin Ballroom at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel.
