FFWD’s New Hot List

ffwd normalSeason two of FFWD is building momentum. After announcing support from the Dubai Design District and a biannual platform schedule, Fashion Forward Dubai has revealed new names to be added to its upcoming schedule, from October 15th to 18th at the Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai.

Several of FFWD’s new additions already enjoy some popularity within the region. The catwalk presentations will span four full days—one day longer than last season—with a selection of Couture and Ready-To-Wear from the Middle East. The new designers include: Madiyah Al Sharqi; eclectic Saudi designer, Reem Al Kanhal; Omani sisters, Nadia and Lubna of Endemage; British duo, Sacha Plumbridge and Nana Agyeman of Dubai-based GISELLA Blu; House of Fatam, designed by three siblings based in the UAE; as well as a premiere for the Saudi designer, Aziz Humaid, who will launch his first collection at Fashion Forward.

Complementing these new shows and building on their participation from season one, twelve designers will return to the FFWD runways, with more to be announced in the coming weeks. Among the designers returning are Doha-based designer, Lama El-Moatassem, who will present her new collection for Toujouri; the new Starch trio, Lebanese designers Hussein Bazaza, Bashar Assaf and Lara Khoury, will showcase their second collection under Rabih Kayrouz’s mentorship; Lebanese designer, Zayan Ghandour; and Essa.

Further fashion, accessories, and lifestyle-related participation is expected, including a leading academic institution, international industry professionals, and the regional and global media, next to leisure activities such as a fashion café and gallery, as well as the previously announced launch of The Garden—a retail and trade gallery by Middle Eastern designers.
