La Dolce Vita on the Côte d’Azur

Wednesday night, the crème de la crème of Cannes donned their most sophisticated of Italian fashion and descended onto the Croisette to give the Cote d’Azur a lesson in Italian style. Actors, models, and industry VIPs mingled, creating an atmosphere of true celebration to inaugurate the new Cannes Armani boutique during the final week of the Film Festival. Giorgio Armani has already made a mark on this year’s festival red carpet dressing the likes of Matt Damon, Isabella Ferrari, Clive Owen, Keanu Reeves, Cate Blanchett, and Dubai’s Mashaheer TV presenter, Diala Makki, among others.

Actress Lea Seydoux was one of the first to step into the boutique, wearing a stunning royal blue strapless floorlength sheath gown. Following her arrival, the statuesque Stacey Keibler, in a modern color-block number and hair swept back into a ponytail, drew many smiles from the welcoming crowd. Commenting on the downpour outside, she told Style.com/Arabia, “I’ve been drinking lots of water to stay hydrated while traveling but this is insane.” Next to arrive was the magnetic Vampire Diaries actress, Kat Graham, who, referring to the selection of her moucharabieh Armani-inspired outfit told us: “I don’t use a stylist. I want to connect with the designer. But unless you are obsessed with fashion, you should probably get one. I love Style.com. In fact, I am obsessed with Style.com.”

While guests nibbled on velvet rose-petaled burrata and succulent strawberries, model and actress, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, was a vision with wavy golden hair posing with the equally striking Milla Jovovich, both smouldering in Armani evening looks. Meanwhile, Editor, Derek Blasberg, who Style.com/Arabia last saw at the ASmallWorld event in Marrakech, chatted up the ladies.

A crowd pleaser included Milla’s supposed sidekick at l’Oréal, an adorable pup named Bubbles who would not miss a photo op and had everyone pulling out their phones to snap her. Spanish model, Jon Kortajarena, added extra Latin glamour to the monochromatic store and café.  At sunset, a rainbow lit up the croisette to the guests’ delight; one would almost think that hostess, Roberta Armani, had had a conversation with the gods that evening.
