The great luxury of Courrèges is that we can smoke on the premises!” joked Jacques Bungert, co-owner of the storied French label. It was at the company’s sleek, minimalistic headquarters in Paris that an intimate dinner with the likes of Solange Knowles, Kendall Jenner, Joan Smalls, Leandra Medine, and Constance Jablonski feted the new makeup collaboration with Estée Lauder. The 13-piece collection (currently available at counter and in Colette) looks like something from the Space Age; think: lip gloss in squeezable, spherical pods and highlighter housed in metallic, egglike capsules. Frédéric Torloting, the other half of the Courrèges duo, said about the inspiration behind the packaging and pop colors: “The space age is back because people want to dream again.” They also want to have fun when they’re not on PFW duty. Jenner noted that she snuck in a trip to Notre Dame (her first time) earlier in the week, Jablonski indulged in French bread at a simple boulangerie, while Smalls was just happy to see her friends and take comfort in knowing that this was the last city on the whirlwind fashion tour. Joan, we feel you.
A little indulgence is always on the menu over in the Eighth at perennial fashion favorite Caviar Kaspia. Last night a crew including Margherita Maccapani Missoni Amos, Mario Testino, Caroline Issa, and Joan Burstein turned out there to toast to Charlotte Dellal’s Fall collection. After a three-course meal, guests were able to compete in a “shoe quiz” for a chance to win one of Dellal’s clutches. From what we hear, the competition was savage.
