Thursday night, as part of a retrospective exhibition dedicated to “The Knot” iconic clutch bag, the Italian house, Bottega Veneta, converted its two-story Saint Tropez boutique into a pop-up gallery.
Over 300 different models of the knot-clasp boxy clutch were displayed during an exclusive event that welcomed the fashion crowd including the likes of Caroline Issa, Tallulah Harlech, and bloggers Hanneli Mustaparta and Denni Elias of Chic Muse. The exhibition, “When Your Own Initials Are Enough: The Knot” is open today to the public.
First designed by Tomas Maier, Creative Director of Bottega Veneta, in 2001, the knot clutch has become one of the house’s signature pieces and a collector’s item, thanks to its recognizable shape and delicate “intrecciato” woven leather technique—a highly artisanal technique developed by the luxury lifestyle brand.
The exhibition, which was launched in St. Moritz last February, will travel to Bahrain in October.
