Kim and Kanye Turn Up for Balmain

What a difference a season makes: Olivier Rousteing’s follow-up to the chaos and shattered glass when Rihanna turned up at the Crazy Horse last season was, as the designer put it, “a mini Versailles in the middle of Paris.” He was referring to the 19th-century Hôtel Le Marois, a town house better known as France-Amériques in the Golden Triangle. And L’Amérique was out in force, from DJs Hannah Bronfman and her boyfriend, Brendan Fallis, to American tabloid royalty—namely Kris, Kendall, Kim, and Kanye.

“Breaking out in Paris is the coolest thing I’ve ever done, ever,” exclaimed Bronfman as she took to the turntables. Flashbulbs popped in the stairwell, but otherwise the scene was remarkably calm as the K clan took a table in the corner, with nary a velvet rope in sight. “It’s just so glamorous, fun, and decadent,” Kim offered about Balmain. “At my bachelorette dinner two nights before my wedding, I knew that night was going to be fun and I had to have a short Balmain dress.” Of today’s show, she commented, “I always love all the pieces that look handcrafted and the big jewels—I always gravitate toward that—but I think my favorite piece was the cream cape ensemble or the red one with slacks and the bandeau. But it’s hard to choose, I am such a fan. The season looks really good. It’s all extremely wearable, and so sexy.”
