Daneh

Saudi designer Daneh Buahmad’s signature is “urbanwear with an edge.” This collection—her 11th to date—featured bold sportswear: sweaters with strategic cuts along the waist; three-quarter black pants with flattering white inserts; bandeau tops with leggings; and a mesh top with overlapping circle cutouts. All of these could find a place in the woman-on-the-go’s wardrobe; indeed, there’s an increasing market for elevated leisure and sportswear. And after seeing these stylish pieces, we couldn’t help but wonder how good all of this would have looked in color.

Buahmad also featured many tailored white shirts, but the wide cuffs and the overly detailed collars came across as too structured for the intended easy air of the collection. However, the white skirt and top with shredded hems (which was also featured in navy blue), was a look that suggested put together yet insouciant. The high low dress finale look would have benefitted from being all the same length. After all, when you’re using such quality fabrics (yes, we noticed), don’t take away from them by creating an awkward cut.
