As the Editors pack their travel cases with the most coveted beauty products ahead of their trip to Paris to cover Haute Couture week, Style.com/Arabia shares a conversation with supermodel, Karlie Kloss, who reflected on some of her more beautiful moments in fashion.
Being part of a couture show is unlike anything else. It is extreme luxury in every sense. I think of the incredible experiences backstage; I have so many memories. Specifically the Dior shows with Pat McGrath—when John would do a couture show, the makeup and hair and beauty would be so extreme that you would have to arrive four hours before the actual show just to start the process.
I remember this one particular season where everybody had these Swarovski crystals applied all over their faces. The same thing with the hair—you have budgets for extensions that are thousands of dollars. Money is no object. It’s about being creative and evoking the dream.
Personally… for me, when it comes to beauty, I am all about two things: I love a pedicure and I love a massage. I think that hands and feet…especially for women who often wear heels…I, for one, have so much tension from ballet, so there is nothing better than having a nice spa pedicure and muscle massage. It’s heaven, just heaven. I don’t spoil myself enough with massages. I’ve done a few trips with Vogue, where they feature spas from around the world. We did one in Brazil, and another one recently in Austria—that was unbelievable. Through my job, I have the opportunity to experience some of the most extraordinary luxuries that most people don’t get to experience, regardless of whether they can afford it or not. Like having Pat McGrath do your makeup or be at one of the most renowned spas in the world for a face treatment.
We wonder, what spa treatment we could propose here in the Middle East that Karlie Kloss has never before experienced?
