Elle Macpherson

ellem3Before Time magazine christened her “The Body” and put her on the cover of a 1986 issue, Elle Macpherson was just an Aussie beach babe who was trying to earn a little money to help fund her college studies in law. But ask any good model scout; a face and frame like that belongs in front of the camera, not in a courtroom. With perma-tanned curves of the 36-25-35 variety and golden blond highlights that predate Gisele’s death grip on the honey hue, Macpherson dominated the editorial world in the eighties and early nineties, scoring iconic covers with Elle and Sports Illustrated that earned her one-name-only status alongside the likes of Naomi, Cindy, and Linda.
