Madiyah Al Sharqi

You have to hand it to Madiyah Al Sharqi: season after season, the Emirati designer pushes herself to explore and interpret international trends while maintaining her signature macaron palette and pretty mélange of textures.

This Fall 2016 season, Al Sharqi tipped her hat to the ongoing ‘70s trend with a collection rife with outerwear that will appeal to her regional clientele. Eyeing the bubblegum pink shaggy sweater, Style.com/Arabia’s Nouriah Al Shatti commented, “I want that now.” Dyed lambswool, shearling trim coats, and shag sweaters made for inspired outerwear, and apart from the eye-catching core pieces (and a green and pink T-bar yoke look that didn’t quite land), there was also a slew of easy separates in the lineup. High-waisted, tailored wide-leg pants; structured shorts; and pencil and mini skirts that came in a soft palette that will be easy to style.
