Following in the footsteps of Au Jour Le Jour and Stella Jean, Vivetta was selected as this year’s young brand to show at Giorgio Armani’s Teatro venue in Milan. It was the first proper runway show for the label, founded by Vivetta Ponti in 2010. “It’s so exciting because Giorgio Armani himself chose me,” Ponti told Style.com, adding, “to me, it’s very, very beautiful, because it’s not just my debut at fashion week, but in that kind of place that is very big and beautiful—I’m so thankful to Mr. Armani; I will be forever.”
Ponti’s quirky and surreal designs are likely already on your radar, whether you recognize them from being sold at boutique retailers like Avenue 32 or from street-style snaps where they’re worn by the likes of Charlotte Dellal and Alexa Chung. Get the crib notes on Ponti and her Fall 2015 collection below, and stay tuned for more from this label.
1. Ponti describes her design aesthetic as “ironic, surrealist, and romantic.”
2. Prior to starting her brand, she worked at Roberto Cavalli. She currently splits her time between Milan and Assisi, where she is the art director and set designer for Virgilio Villoresi, an animation director.
3. All of her pieces are made and fabricated in Italy.
4. Her Fall 2015 collection was inspired by “psychedelia and Marianne Faithfull.”
5. High points of the collection included intricately embroidered separates and several pieces of bright fur outerwear.
