10 Things to Know About Tom Ford’s L.A. Show

Only Tom Ford could pull off such an extravagant runway show in Los Angeles on the same weekend of London fashion week and the Academy Awards. From the rose petals that fell from the ceiling to the Hollywood stars that packed into the venue, the event was one for the ages. Let’s not forget about the clothes, either—there were plenty of shaggy coats, knee-high boots, and knotted chokers to keep both Ford’s film and fashion-world clientele happy.

Get all the highlights below, and stay tuned for more coverage from Tom Ford’s Fall 2015 collection.

1. For the venue, Ford re-created his London show space inside Milk Studios in L.A.

2. Ford snagged all the best girls to walk in his show, including opener Daphne Groeneveld, closer Karlie Kloss, Anna Ewers, Sasha Luss, Daria Strokous, Joan Smalls, Lexi Boling, Binx Walton, Ashleigh Good, Grace Hartzel, Valery Kaufman, Vanessa Moody, Lindsey Wixson, and Xiao Wen Ju.

3. Both Hadid sisters, Gigi and Bella, walked the show.

4. Models had “shaggable” eye makeup and braided updos.

5. The traffic to the show was predictably nuts.

6. The guest list read like a rundown of Hollywood A-listers: Julianne Moore, Beyoncé, Jay Z, Jared Leto, Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Amy Adams, Jennifer Lopez, Scarlett Johansson, Olivia Munn, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

7. Miley Cyrus also attended with her boyfriend (and Tom Ford model) Patrick Schwarzenegger.

8. Denim on a Tom Ford runway? It happened.

9. The runway was covered in rose petals, and during the second portion of the show, petals fell from the ceiling. Ford’s other memorable rose petal moment was his final show for Gucci in 2004.

10. The big question of the night was whether Oscar nominee (and probable winner) Julianne Moore would sport one of Ford’s Fall 2015 creations to the awards ceremony on Sunday. Turns out she has something else planned.
