Haute Couture Middle Eastern VIPs

Paris Haute Couture week has become something of a Middle Eastern playground with designers like Georges Hobeika, Rami Al Ali, and Rami Kadi showcasing their collections in the French capital. Our brightest celebrities were once again present front row to choose their upcoming red carpet gowns. Here is a recap of who was there, what they were doing, and who are the designers they personally support.

The Maybelline ambassador and presenter of STYLE on MBC1, Aline Watfa, showed up at the majority of the shows with exclusive backstage access to Elie Saab, Zuhair Murad, and Jean Paul Gaultier before taking her front row seat.

Lebanese superstar Elissa is a front row regular at Elie Saab and Philipp Plein. This season, she attended Saab’s homage to Beirut, before hanging out with shoe designer Brian Atwood and her stylist and Jamalouki Editor, Mandy Merheb.

Our columnist and TV personality, Diala Makki, is a veteran on the couture scene, having interviewed everyone from Karl Lagerfeld to Jean Paul Gaultier. But her stop in the fashion capital during couture week would not be complete without a visit to her best friend and go-to designer, Rami Al Ali.

Myriam Fares is probably Lebanese designer Rami Kadi’s most fervent and influential supporter. After a trip to London, she made an appearance at the Plaza Athénée hotel where he presented his couture collection wearing one of his latest designs. What a great friend to have!

RAZANE JAMMAL Voices contributor Razane Jammal and rising movie star in the Middle East along with on the international scene, showed up at Chanel where she is a front row regular, as well as at Stephane Rolland and Zuhair Murad.
