Lebanese jewelry designer Laure Yassine launched her brand L’Or jewelry in 2013. The ESMOD graduate, who studied fashion design, specializes in creating themed jewelry collections that embody a youthful spirit. Featuring diamonds and precious gemstones, her designs have caught the attention of fashion bloggers across the region and A-list Arab celebrities, such as singer Nancy Ajram. Here, Style.com/Arabia talks to the designer about her ice cream collection and her philosophy behind her fun and unique themes.
ON LAUNCHING HER BRAND
In the beginning, I was designing custom-made creations for my close friends and family. After witnessing the potential and my clients’ satisfaction with my designs, I decided to launch my own brand “L’Or Jewelry,” which sounds like my name (Laure) and also means ‘’gold” in French.
ON THE YOUTHFUL SPIRIT OF HER LABEL
My brand stands out for its youthful spirit and unique feminine and individual combinations; that’s why every season I work on a themed collection. Since I rely on multiple sources of inspiration, each collection has its own distinct personality and each item is transformed into an eye-catching statement piece.
ON CREATING AN ICE CREAM COLLECTION
Every season, I’ve worked on a specific theme that shapes my collection. For example, my Fall 2014 “Umbrellas” collection was inspired by rain and thunder while my Summer 2015 designs are inspired by vanilla ice cream; that’s how my “Ice Cream” collection was born. I actually launched this line last summer; this season, I’ve expanded on the theme and added new editions to the existing collection.
