The fashion set descended on the Mediterranean island of Capri to celebrate the stylish nuptials of Italian fashion editor Giovanna Battaglia and Swedish realtor Oscar Engelbert on Friday. The stylist, W Magazine contributor, and Vogue Japan fashion editor tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at the Punta Carena Lighthouse wearing an extravagant, ruffled wedding dress complete with an elaborate, floor-sweeping train signed Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton. Following the confetti-filled ceremony, and in true, boundary-pushing style, the bride traded in her gown for a short, caped, 3D floral-embellished Giambattista Valli creation complete with thigh-high boots.
The wedding was attended by editor-at-large Anna Dello Russo; Net-a-Porter founder Natalie Massenet; model Natasha Poly, and Moda Operandi co-founder Lauren Santo Domingo. Designers such as Giambattista Valli, Peter Dundas, Edgardo Osorio, Alessandro Sartori, Adam Lippes, Tanya Taylor, Noor Fares, and Sabine Getty were also among the A-list guests. For the pre-wedding fête, the bride donned a custom, feathered, tea-length dress by Tunisian couturier Azzedine Alaïa, which she styled with crystal-embellished Aquazzura heels. As for the grand after party aboard a tanker, guests stepped into their dancing shoes and Battaglia slipped into a Prada, tinsel-laden frock for a fete celebrating the newlyweds. In the slides below, see the magical photos from Giovanna Battaglia’s wedding—already hailed as the society wedding of the year.
