In light of the launch of the Nike + Training Club (NTC) app in Arabic, Nike has teamed up with Emirati champion weightlifter Amna Al Haddad to create a short film that is meant to inspire females across the region to live a more active and healthy lifestyle in 2016. In the film, Al Haddad shares her inspirational story of how she pushes her limits every day to reach her goals. Growing up in the UAE, her first job was in journalism, but once sports and fitness became more important in her life, she discovered her immense passion for weightlifting. Initially, Al Haddad was told that she was too old for weightlifting, but she accomplished her goals and encourages everyone to do the same.
Al Haddad has competed in several global competitions; her accolades include six gold medals and three silver medals from the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF). “I wanted to make a change. At first it was a hobby, [and] then it became a lifestyle,” she said.
The Nike film is set in Ohio where Al Haddad has relocated to for several months to focus on her training to achieve her next goal: qualifying for the Rio 2016 Olympics. “I know what my goal is. I’ll keep working hard to get there.”
Get ready to be inspired.
