Lauryn Hill Performs at Tory Burch’s Party, and More Paris Fetes

Tory Burch celebrated her arrival in Paris with the official opening of her Paris boutique last night, located on the Rue Saint Honoré just off the Rue Royale. In addition to her colorful signature collection of shoes, bags, and clothes, the designer unveiled a capsule collection specific to Paris. Post-opening, Burch welcomed guests such as Jessica Alba and Olivier Rousteing to the Hôtel de Sully on the Place des Vosges, where the massive courtyard was transformed with outdoor furniture in a Provençal spirit and a stage for Lauryn Hill. Burch told Style.com she’s a huge fan of Hill, whose performance was electric. More than one guest professed to have gotten goose bumps or cried during her set.

Over at Caviar Kaspia, Ruth Chapman welcomed a small group of friends to a dinner in honor of Matches Fashion’s new jewelry collaboration with Aurélie Bidermann. A study of the ginkgo leaf, the collection includes pieces like a choker, earrings, and a chunky cuff dipped in rose gold with the occasional shot of dark blue enamel. “Ruth inspires me a lot for her chic, elegance, and generosity, so when she suggested a collaboration, I said yes right away,” Bidermann said. The seven-piece line will bow in September.

Up in the ninth arrondissement, Lancôme went for the “Wôw” factor at the Casino de Paris with a lavish 80th anniversary bash complete with a special concert and a “Happy Birthday” by Kylie Minogue. All of the house’s muses were on hand, including Isabella Rossellini and her daughter, Elettra Wiedemann; Julia Roberts; and Lupita Nyong’o. Elsewhere in the crowd were several other famous faces, including Meg Ryan, and rising fashion stars Yiqing Yin and Simon Porte Jacquemus. “My first memory is the ad with Marie Gillain that said ‘yes to love,’” Jacquemus offered. Miroslava Duma recalled growing up in the USSR when owning a bottle of perfume was a big luxury. “My mom wore Climat, and when I was about 5, I broke the bottle, and I decided to earn money to buy her a new one,” she said. “These days, it’s not hard to find a perfume, but that one brings back so many memories.”
The best party of the night? The one where there were no photo crews. MyTheresa celebrated Haider Ackermann at Le Grand Véfour alongside Kanye West and Tilda Swinton. If you look, you’ll find pics on Instagram.
