On Sunday, the Miu Miu Club opened its doors at the ornate Hôtel de la Païva located on the Champs-Elysées in Paris for the brand’s Resort 2017 collection presentation party. Commissioned in the 19th century by French courtesan Esther Lachmann—who was famously referred to as La Païva—the lavish mansion is known for its grand, Algerian yellow, onyx staircase; striking fresco ceiling by French painter Paul-Jacques-Aimé Baudry; and its Napoleonic décor—all of which served as a striking backdrop for the evening’s festivities. For one night only, Miu Miu gave the ostentatious building a new lease on life by transforming the residence into a club, cinema, restaurant, and show house to unveil its Resort collection.
Held during Paris Fashion Week Couture, the lavish fête attracted designer Marc Jacobs, former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris Carine Roitfeld, Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner, and singer Soko. The VIP crowd witnessed the first screening of the Italian brand’s Fall 2016 ready-to-wear campaign video, and dined on a delectable menu of roasted sirloin and poached sea trout courtesy of renowned British chef Margot Henderson. When they weren’t viewing all 11 of the Miu Miu Women’s Tales films in the private cinema and taking in a live performance from string quartet Dirty Pretty Strings, the style set could be found on the marble dance floor enjoying DJ sets by Kate Moss and Love magazine’s editor-in-chief Katie Grand.
