The standout pieces unveiled during Paris Fashion Week Couture were complemented with meticulously crafted hair and makeup looks. While the jaw-dropping atelier offerings don’t easily blend into our everyday routines, the beauty looks that accompanied them certainly do. Here, we select five standout beauty looks from the Fall 2016 haute couture runways to try now.
DISCO BALL LIPS
Amping up the classic red lip was a smattering of couture glitter at Atelier Versace. Dreamed up by makeup artist Pat McGrath, the show-stopping, sparkly, scarlet lips made a high-impact statement.
FUR RIBBONS at FENDI
Renowned hairstylist Sam Mcknight sent models down the Fendi runway with fuzzy, flowing curls that were secured in stunning half-up, half-down hairstyles. Satin and grosgrain bows were traded for custom, fur ribbons to complete the look.
NO MAKEUP, MAKEUP at GIAMBATTISTA VALLI
Backstage at Giambattista Valli, makeup artist Val Garland swapped foundation for tinted moisturizer, and lipstick for lip balm. The models’ sublime skin was elevated with equally unfussy, saturated strands that were slicked back into low ponytails.
UNCONVENTIONAL CAT-EYES at ELIE SAAB
Makeup artist Tom Pecheux gave the cat-eye an edge at Elie Saab by drawing a thick, angular, liquid line above the upper lid. The exaggerated flick was paired with a matte, cherry lip, and hairstylist Orlando Pita created dreamy, romantic waves for a softer finishing touch..
GILDED HAIR BANDS at VALENTINO
To complement the Elizabethan vibe at Valentino, models’ hair was secured into low ponytails at the nape of the neck and decorated with delicate, gold hair ties. Pat McGrath opted for clean skin and bare lips to match the elevated, ethereal mood.
