Alber Elbaz has been awarded the Légion d’Honneur award at the Ministre de la Culture et de la Communication, presented by the Minister of Culture, Audrey Azoulay. The longstanding Creative Director of Lanvin left the fashion house last October after 14 years. At the ceremony he referenced the house of Lanvin as the “sleeping beauty” of Paris. American Vogue reported that Elbaz shared with his audience, “One day [Lanvin] we’ll be back together again, but maybe in another place.” In attendance, actress Kristin Scott Thomas told American Vogue, “This makes him a sort of national treasure. Which he is, and we should really cherish that.”
The event took place as Paris Fashion Week, the final leg for the current show season, saw an eventful few days unfold: from Kim Kardashian’s gunpoint jewelry robbery to Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid’s Givenchy front row appearance. Tomorrow, the final day of PFW will close with shows from Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu.
Bravo, Alber.
