Our trip to Oman for Muscat Fashion Week revealed many treasures. One find was local brand, Dibaj, by Omani sisters Afaf and Aida al Farsi. While their couture collection is inspired by a jet-setting upbringing—due to their diplomat father—the Dibaj couture jewelry collection is distinctly Omani. Intricate necklaces, bracelets, and rings feature elaborate patterns and symbols, and even Quranic calligraphy is engraved onto the metal. This red bracelet features modal textile, a semi-synthetic fiber made from the cellulose of beech trees. Embellished with a gold-plated lily with dagger-like petals and bar, it offers a contemporary spin on a traditional, Bedouin embellishment.
