Many people, including yours truly, have tried to get to the heart of the mystery surrounding jewelry designer Joël Arthur Rosenthal—the most secretive jeweler in the world. Surprisingly, he decided to shed some light on his private collections during an exhibition at the Met (running November 20 through March 9). If you don’t happen to be in New York City during this period, however, today’s Treat will make for an excellent source of information on the Place Vendôme boutique’s butterflies and flowers, crafted from colored stones. But don’t expect any other information for years to come from this designer, whose boutique has no windows and only opens its doors to a select few.
