Amadeo Cameo Ring

Amedeo 02Browsing the showrooms during London Fashion Week, Italian jeweler and designer, Amedeo Scognamiglio’s playful cameos caught our eye. Influenced by the 1970’s rock music scene, this traditionally romantic jewelry shares a message of “Made in Italy” handcraft while featuring a punk and androgynous design. As engravings, cameos date back to as early as 3000-3500 B.C., when Sumerian and Egyptian civilizations carved scarabs on different stones to symbolize the beetles which were worshipped as symbols of the sun and manly courage. Today, the Scognamiglio family, boasting a 200-year heritage, is the only jewelry house specializing in hand-made cameos.
