When it comes to accessories, get your punk on with Alexander McQueen. Before his too-early death in 2010, McQueen bid us farewell with a last collection inspired by 70s punk; from metal-tipped footwear to leopard print suspenders. A lover of all things dark, edgy, and organic, it is only fitting to pay him an homage on this day that celebrates Punk Couture. In actuality, this year’s Met Gala theme—From Chaos to Couture—could also appropriately describe the title of a biography on McQueen.
Throughout his career, McQueen experimented with punk codes; an irreverent couturier, he worked leather, metal, and color clashes in each of his collections. Today, his House continues to produce the signature skull box clutches and it is our Treat of choice.
