We admit to being more than a little partial to any celebration of art, design, fashion, and food, so when the Dubai Design District announced a three-day event scheduled from April 2nd to 4th offering a meet and greet with experts in the aforementioned fields, we marked our calendars.

Kicking off the event will be a free concert by British soul singer John Newman and what will follow is a smorgasbord of emerging regional and established talent showcasing their creative skills.

The fashion component will include a spotlight of the historical evolution of the traditional Emirati dress (curated by Anthropology of Design) along with a showcase of the first 3D printed dress made in Dubai, courtesy of Bint Thani X Inter | Act. Presentations from d3 residents Bil Arabi, Rula Galayini, Kage, Nathalie Trad, AOD, and FMM by Fatma Al Mulla will also be featured. Hailing from New York, threeASFOUR will present an immersive multimedia presentation of their latest collection.

Apart from Newman, other musicians confirmed to entertain us while we munch on food courtesy of Mourad “Momo” Mazouz (in collaboration with Hassan Hajjaj), include Iraqi-Canadian Narcicyst, Zahed Sultan, Talvin Singh, and Arab hip hop singer Malikah.

Meanwhile, if you’re still hungry for design following the ongoing Design Days Dubai and Art Dubai exhibitions, enjoy a stroll through Project Lines by Lebanese architects Ghaith & Jad, take in a typographic installation signed Ebon Heath, or sign up for the glass-blowing workshop with international lighting brand Lasvit.
