The “Karl Lagerfeld: Visions of Fashion” Exhibition Revealed in Florence

Following the Chanel Resort 2017 collection Havana extravaganza, creative director Karl Lagerfeld flew to Florence, Italy for Pitti Uomo—which is currently underway and ends on June 17th—to attend his photography exhibition, “Karl Lagerfeld: Visions of Fashion.”

This year, the 90th edition of the biannual menswear event shines a light on Lagerfeld’s career as a photographer. Spread across an array of opulent rooms at the iconic Palazzo Pitti, the exhibition, curated by publisher Gerhard Steidl and Chanel’s image director, Eric Pfrunder, features over 200 portraits that chronicle the renowned designer’s work behind the lens. Through the pictures, which include polaroid transfers, digital prints, screen-prints, and more, visitors can immerse themselves in Lagerfeld’s creative world. The collection showcases both Chanel and Fendi campaigns, fashion editorial shoots, self-portraits, and a slew of never-seen-before images pulled from Lagerfeld’s personal archive. The “Karl Lagerfeld: Visions of Fashion” exhibition will be on display at the Palazzo Pitti in Florence until October 23rd.
