Karlie Kloss appeared on the 2016 Met Gala red carpet wearing a white, cut-out gown by Brandon Maxwell. Unlike some of her fellow guests who opted to change outfits later on in the night—cue Bella Hadid’s latex dress and Kylie Jenner’s thigh-high boots and mini dress—the leggy model turned to the designer for a quicker solution.
Armed with nothing but a pair of scissors, Maxwell transformed the floor-sweeping silhouette into a striking mini dress for Kloss to dance the night away in at The Standard High Line Met Gala after party. Hesitant at first, Kloss posted a video to her Instagram page in which she stated, “This is a bad idea.
