Inside the Star-Studded amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala

Disco fever swept through the Cannes Film Festival 2016 for the prestigious 23rd annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala that took place at the glamorous Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes, France. The high-profile charity event was attended by a star-studded guest list that included Leonardo DiCaprio, Uma Thurman, Elle Fanning, Orlando Bloom, and Katy Perry who took center stage in tinsel-laden ensembles to deliver an electrifying performance that featured her chart-topping hits I Kissed a Girl and Roar.

Along with treating guests to the glittering concert, the amfAR gala played host to a Studio 54 themed runway show curated by Carine Roitfeld. The 32-piece multiple designer collection saw models Jourdan Dunn, Karlie Kloss, Bella Hadid, and Doutzen Kroes shimmy down the runway in sequin-loaded silhouettes—all of which were up for auction—alongside Victoria’s Secret angels Alessandra Ambrosio and Izabel Goulart. Host for the evening Kevin Spacey gave delighted guests an opportunity to bid for a walk-on role in the hit television drama House of Cards, and Leonardo DiCaprio auctioned off a week-long stay at his Palm Springs private residence. The gala benefit—founded by the late Elizabeth Taylor—raised over US $25 million (AED/SAR 91,823,750) which will go towards further AIDS research.
