On the 2016 MTV Awards red carpet, Hollywood A-listers and models of the moment appeared to have received the all-black memo, with the inky hue being the dominant shade of choice. Model Kendall Jenner made a show-stopping appearance in a black, asymmetrical, lace-up detail dress by London-based, Norwegian designer Kristian Aadnevik, which she styled with thigh-high strappy sandals. Suicide Squad actress and model Cara Delevingne wore a black, long-sleeved, velvet cutout jumpsuit signed Balmain; Jessica Chastain opted for glamour in a floor-grazing, lace Givenchy gown; and Charlize Theron arrived wearing a plunging, pleated, lace Alexander McQueen dress.
The gentlemen were also dressed to impress. Rapper Common, actor Chris Pratt, and actor Miles Teller kept it cool and casual in bomber and leather jackets.
Once settled inside, the stars saw awards handed out to Star Wars: The Force Awakens for Movie of the Year; Charlize Theron took home the golden popcorn for Best Female Performance for her role in Mad Max: Fury Road; and Leonardo DiCaprio received the award for Best Male Performance for his character portrayal in The Revenant.
