With the region’s most prolific shoe hunter—head buyer at Level Shoe District, Alberto Oliveros—guiding you through Fall 2015’s best styles and must haves, you can do no wrong. Here is everything you need to know about this season’s key trends to keep your footwear game on point.
Buyer’s Guide: Level Shoe District’s Top Fall 2015 Trends
Velvet Velvet is the most prominent fabric being used this season, as seen throughout the collections. From single-sole pumps, to boots, and sandals, velvet creates a plush and luxurious feeling. The Balmain runway single sole pump with an ankle strap is absolutely fabulous and a great example of this season’s trend. Nicholas Kirkwood, Brian Atwood, and N.21 also feature this trend in their collections.
Booties The classic ankle bootie is seen in many collections this season, but what sets it apart from its predecessors are all the fun details. Some standouts are Gianvito Rossi’s booties in shearling and Nicholas Kirkwood’s mesh styles, as well as pairs by Laurence Dacade, Aquazzura, and Sophia Webster.
Platforms The platform trend is the quintessential triple threat: comfortable, high, and stylish. Aquazzura’s “Sexy Thing” in cashmere suede is both fun and colorful, as are designs by Laurence Dacade and Nicholas Kirkwood.
Fur Fur and animal print, especially leopard, are really prominent in many collections. Bringing that wintery feeling back to our footwear wardrobe is Francesco Russo’s leopard bootie, exclusively made for Level Shoe District, which is a great combination of two trends. Pierre Hardy’s sneakers with fur, and designs by Gianvito Rossi and Brian Atwood are also so much fun.
Brocade Rich brocades, adorned booties, and single sole pumps give this season’s style a heightened luxurious feel. Rupert Sanderson, Mary Katrantzou, and Rochas styles in beautiful jacquard are stunning.
Christopher Kane His second footwear collection is truly powerful. The metallic slides are perfect for Level Shoe District’s trend-savvy clientele.
Oscar Tiye Oscar Tiye’s Minnie Mouse flats are adorable and animated. I love how Amina Muaddi brought adventure to her lace pump by adding a touch of Minnie.
Vionnet Vionnet’s mink flats are the ultimate indulgence and just beyond chic—a season must-have.
Chloe Gosselin Gosselin’s collection is truly feminine and chic. Her classic silhouettes are elegant and perfect for an evening out.
Darmaki Emirati designer Sultan Al Darmaki’s collection is powerful and stunning. His statement, origami heel adds his collection to this season’s must haves.
