The Fitness Gurus: Ruthie Fischer on a Balanced, Healthy Lifestyle

We caught up with Fischer to find out how she keeps an active lifestyle and prioritizes her passion for fitness and outdoor activities.

DANNIELLE BLAKER: What tops the list as your favorite workout right now?

RUTHIE FISCHER: My go-to workouts during the week are interval training, lightweight circuits, and at least one yoga class. I am also a fan of high intensity circuit training. I have never really been into cross training before, but I have just started taking a few classes at the Warehouse Gym and I’m enjoying the diversity.

Which fitness activity do you want to try?

I’ve just discovered S10 training, which looks really interesting. It focuses on finding the right balance of weight training and nutrition. Like a lot of women, I have always struggled with getting into weight training so I’m always looking for ways to make it a little more appealing.

Who is your fitness guru?

Edita at Urban Yoga—she teaches strengthening yoga and is excellent.

Your favorite fitness gear?

Nike for shoes and accessories. As for clothes, I am very loyal to Australian brands—The Upside and Vie Active are my favorites. I’m all about brands that can work in and out of the gym.

Your preferred workout spots?

Urban Yoga and Team Nogueira. I also love the new running track on Jumeirah Beach. You can find me there when the weather is cool.
