This time around, the focus is on the slimmest part of the waist, so it’s time to put down the TV remote and start work on firming up your middle. Spice up your sit up routine with these three additional abdominal exercises as demonstrated by the supermodels.

1. The Plank:
With your body in press up position lower your elbows down to the floor at right angles to your shoulders. Hold this position for 60 seconds and rest for one minute and then repeat.

The Side Plank:

Rotate your body and stretch one arm up towards the ceiling looking upwards at your hand and hold for 60 seconds; then switch to the other side and repeat.

2. Boxing:

Boxers have a seriously strong core and the repetitive motion of punching not only gives your firm abdominals but it is the movement from one side to the other that will help sculpt the sides of your abdominals. Get your gloves on and if you don’t have a sparing partner, work out on the punching bag.

3. TRX Resistance

In press up position, link your feet into the TRX stirrups and as you engage your core muscles, lift up your hips in line with your shoulders and drop back down to the press up position. If you do not have TRX equipment, you can balance your legs on a pilates ball and recreate the same motion. Your abdominals will work overtime to steady your body into place.
