Find Out if Dior Cosmetics’ Fix It 2-in-1 Prime & Colour Correctors are Makeup Must-Haves

If you’re committed to getting an extra 20 minutes of sleep in the mornings rather than prepping a masterfully made up face, then Dior Cosmetics’ Fix It 2-in-1 Prime & Colour Correct (US $36; AED/SAR 132) sticks could be for you. However, they’re not only potential beauty buys for the lazy girl. The latest items to land on my desk are supposedly essential for every makeup aficionado. I put the products to the test, but (before you grab your purse) take note: they’re not available to buy in the Middle East—yet.

WHAT ARE THEY?
Presented in sleek tubes, the creamy, skin-enhancing formulas boast a white, “soft focus” core that aims to prime the skin and erase imperfections. Meanwhile, the surrounding formula comes in four corrective shades—green, blue, yellow, and peach—to neutralize redness, dark circles, blemishes, and dullness.

The products are set to hit shelves in the region on August 1st, along with a double-ended highlighter and contour stick (another must-have), a lustrous eyeshadow, a pigmented luminizer, a smoky eyeshadow quad, and a copper-toned lipstick with matching brown nail lacquers; all of which make up the Fall 2016 “Skyline” collection.

HOW DO THEY WORK?
Use the mint green formula to neutralize ruddiness on the cheeks or any irritation caused by breakouts, and pair it with the lavender blue shade for an instant skin boost. Those with olive skin tones should reach for the apricot hue to combat dark circles and spots, while fairer skinned ladies can opt for the yellow tone to disguise dark under-eye circles.

VERDICT
Having overslept, I had little time to moisturize, prime, sculpt, or conceal the bright red pimple that reared its ugly head on my temple this morning. I quickly slicked the apricot pigment (as I have olive skin) underneath my eyes, and dabbed the mint green corrector across my breakout areas. Then, using a Beautyblender, I applied my foundation. The multipurpose formulas seamlessly camouflaged my imperfections, rendering the use of concealer an unnecessary step in my makeup routine. Next, I swiped a slick of apricot beneath my cheekbones for a quick, five-second contour, a hint of blue underneath my brow bones to wake up my tired eyes, and I was ready to go. With their ability to transform my lengthy morning regime into a five-minute affair, the Dior Fix It 2-in-1 Prime & Colour Correct sticks get my approval.
