Nancy Ajram’s Bollywood Bling

Spotted on Instagram this week, Lebanese songbird Nancy Ajram and Persian Pintsizedfashionista.com blogger sisters, Lailli and Alizey Mirza, were snapped rocking embellished foreheads. Their adornments are an ode to the tikka (aka the jhoomar) headpiece, where bejeweled pendants lie in the center of the forehead—an ancient Indian tradition usually reserved for the bride on her wedding day.

If you would like to channel a little Bollywood allure, then the tikka is like the bindi but in overdrive. There is something mysterious and regal about jewels dripping from your hairline and we feel that this trend is about to pick up the pace. Whether you opt for a traditional tikka like the Mirza sisters or pin a pendant necklace to your hair like Nancy Ajram, don’t be afraid to add a little bling to your blowdry or updo.

See here how to attach the tikka headpiece to your tresses.
