Winter Blues at Thakoon
Midnight blue is fast emerging as a big trend for Fall 2013. At Thakoon, deep indigo shadows were layered with shimmering cobalt shades with a final touch of gold for a multi-dimensional Winter look coupled with flawless skin and natural lips.
Get the look: To get the full dramatic effect of this navy shadow, make sure the under eye area is completely flawless by covering any dark circles with a corrective concealer in a peach or yellow tone.
Use an eyeshadow palette with a range of blue shades such as Guerlain Ecrin 4 Couleurs in Les Ombres de Nuit to create the multi-tonal effect. Start by applying a royal blue across the entire eyelid taking the color up and into the crease. Then, starting at the outer corner of the eye, apply the darker midnight blue shade over the top, blending the two colors outwards for a winged effect.
For added glamour, apply a touch of loose gold glitter on the center of the eyelid. Finish with a coat of black mascara on lashes, leaving lower lashes bare for a contemporary touch.
