Currently making headlines is Saraswati—a resourceful makeup artist who takes hijab fashion to another level by using her veil to transform into popular Disney princesses. The talented makeup artist who goes by the name of @queenofluna on Instagram, employs nothing but different colored veils and her captivating makeup skills to create incredible Disney Princess makeup transformations.

The self-proclaimed “comic geek” uses her headscarf as a prop to create the illusion of hair— transforming herself into a blond Cinderella; the fiery redheaded Ariel; or raven-haired Princess Jasmine. But the transformations don’t stop there; the makeup artist also shares realistic recreations of Disney villains such as Maleficent and Cruella de Vil with her 169K and rapidly growing followers.

The thousands of devoted fans (both hijab and non-hijab wearers) admire her talent. “You’re incredible! I love your creativity and resourcefulness!” quipped Instagram user @dragondivine. “I like the way that you’re being creative but at the same time still covering your aurat,” wrote another follower.

Indeed, the traditional headscarf is starting to gain recognition in mainstream fashion. Dolce & Gabbana launched its first abaya collection earlier this year, and Swedish retailer H&M opted for a hijabi to be a campaign star for the first time in history.
