After walking the Balmain Spring 2016 runway show, Gigi Hadid headed to the Lapérouse restaurant in Paris for the after-party. The model and the rest of the Balmain army were dressed in head-to-toe nude ensembles, but instead of wearing the runway power pony like Alessandra Ambrosio, her sister Bella Hadid, and other model pals who walked the show, Gigi stood out by transforming her tight pony into a neat fishtail braid.
To recreate the fierce, face-lifting hairstyle, work some mousse into the roots before securing your tresses at the crown of your head with a hair tie. Next, wrap a piece of hair around the base of your ponytail to disguise the band. To create the fishtail braid, split your ponytail into two sections. Take a small outer piece of hair from one of the sections and cross it over to the inside of the other section. Repeat the step with a piece of hair from the other side. Continue crossing small, outer pieces of hair into the inside of the opposite section until your plait is complete. Secure your braid with a clear hair tie, and voila, all done.
