The Elie Saab Haute Couture show always promises a little added sparkle and this Fall 2014 Couture catwalk was no exception. With Estée Lauder Creative Director, Tom Pecheux, as the key makeup artist for the show, some forty models were prepped with moonlit eyelids with a custom blend metallic sheen. We caught up with M.A.C All Star Pro Makeup Artist, Vimi Joshi, who worked backstage to discover the application secrets behind the ethereal look.
Get the look:
Step 1:
Take a black kohl pencil and sweep over the eyelid (the messier the better) and blend this with an eyeshadow brush. This gives the eyeshadow a base that it can stick to.
Dip your forefinger into the M.A.C Pressed Pigment in Jet Couture and start to press the pigment onto the eyelid using your finger. This will help to transfer an intense pigment onto the eye socket.

Step 2:
With a damp eyeshadow brush, start to blend the M.A.C Pressed Pigment in Enlightening over the top. Elongate the eyeshadow outwards towards the end of the brow.
Using a small angled application brush, apply the shadow on the lower lash line from the inner most corner of the eye to end in line with the middle of the iris.

Step 3:
Take the M.A.C Eyeshadow in Electric Eel and start to work the color at the innermost corner of the eye. Although this is a highly pigmented bright blue, when blended seamlessly into the metallic pressed pigment it takes on a minty sheen.

Step 4:
Trace a fine line of liquid eyeliner very close to the lashes to finish in line with the end of your lashes. Add a couple of coats of mascara and you will have a set of peepers to marvel at.
